Shingles Support Group
Herpes zoster, colloquially known as shingles, is the reactivation of varicella zoster virus, leading to a crop of painful blisters over the area of a dermatome. It occurs very rarely in children and adults, but its incidence is high in the elderly (over 60), as well as in any age group of immunocompromised patients.

I had bad breakouts of shingles & L-Lysine and it helped somewhat. You have to takes gobs of it consistently and till it goes away....If this virus should ever spread to your eyes, it can cause blindness.

Yes, that is what the opthamologist told me to take. It's just an over the counter supplement so that was nice compared to all the expensive prescriptions I've had to take. And DEFINITELY see an opthamologist immediately if you have shingles anywhere near your eye! There are drops they can put in there, and they need to examine you thoroughly to make sure your vision is not damaged permanently.
