In recovery, I worked hard to improve my self esteem. As I have become more accepting of myself, I have been less concerned with what others think about me.I set some goals for my behavior. Each day I try not to do anything that hurts myself or hurts others. It is even better if I do something to help someone else, without condition. If I accomplish those things, I am living a way of life of which I can be pround. At the end of each day I log if I have or have not met those goals with my actions.
After month after month, I can look back and see that I am living as I want to live.
I also use affirmations such as "Today, I am loveable as I am." "Today I have worth" "Today I am good enough" "Today, I am learning to accept myself"
If someone else does not like what I am doing, I really don't care because I know I am doing what is right for me.
To thine own self be true.

We did not deserve to be abused. we were just unlucky.
You must try to think positively about yourself. catch yourself out when you are being critical or insulting of yourself or thinking negatively and turn this in to something positive. Write a list of your positives and what you have to be grateful for in your life. when you feel down look at or think of this list.
You have to believe you are worthy. You can hundreds of people tell you that you are great but this wont matter unless you believe it yourself.
It doesnt matter who it is but everyone experiences rejection in their life. not all people click and that is why people select their partner and their friends. There are people out there who are right for you. If someone doesnt want to be your friend or partner then they are not meant for you and you must move on and find people who are.
