I am unsure of what to do or how to feel. My pre-teen told me that his teen brother sexually assaulted him when they were younger. He says it happened only a few times. He says it never happened again after that. How does a parent deal with this? If it was any other child it is an even more furious than already at your own. The emotions are all over the place. My older child does not know that I know. Yet. I'm so confused. And my young child does not want me to bring this matter up to his brother. He says he is fine but who knows what the future holds for them both.

I was abused by multiple family members when I was a child. I never told my mom because I didn't want to hurt her and put her in an awkward position. I feel she may have had suspicions about some of the abuse and she even confronted me a couple of times. I always denied it, because I felt it was one less thing she had to deal with as a single mom. I grew up to be a productive citizen with 2 college degrees. I have been married and had other healthy relationships. I never felt great around the family abusers and one (male cousin 2 years older than me) passed away a couple weeks ago. I have told a few other trusted family members and friends about him. And I won't be going to his memorial on Friday

I dont have advice on how to move fwd with the information your son provided. But take heart that he felt you were safe and trusting to tell you these extremely painful experiences.

Big hug sweetie.... This is awful..... Your young child was raped and it sounds like both of your children need a lot of help

I was molested and I'll just tell you how I felt.... I felt as though everyone was more worried about my molester than me
What I mean by that is one said 'my poor mother'.... My mom was worried that my father would kill him
Noone was truly there for me and nothing was ever done about it

Thank you for the kind words and hugs. I am so sorry what you all have been through. I was also molested at 11. My mother did not believe me. I am very grateful my son was able to tell me this information. I wish us all a beautiful and fulfilling life.
