Hello all. I am new to the group , but I would love to get some advice on something My husband was a registered sex offender when we met and got married. I had no I idea it would be this difficult for him to find work (or do many other things). He has not found work in the last 3 years and we have been living off of my check the whole time. Even now he is still submitting applications but no success. Did anyone have any ideas for jobs that he can apply for? He has looked for warehouse and janitorial work but he cannot get past the background check. We also live in NC in the dreaded Bible belt.

Been there done that with my husband it’s very hard for him to put himself out there and be honest only to be looked at like trash and people assume the worst. We have been together almost 11 years and married 5. We have found some success with all different jobs, some as sucky as dishwater and some as good as delivery jobs and working for factories. He has found it easier when dealing with men then women who tend to not want to give him a chance. Keep trying don’t give up.

I realize your post is a few months old and I have commented on one of your other ones... but I thought I’d put it out there that my husband worked at and became a manager at AutoZone. They never asked and he never had to tell them anything. No background checks or questions on the application.

My husband was a registered sex offender when we met as well, he currently has a job but is in need of a second job. The struggle is real. There is so many things he would love to do but can’t because of his past. He was fortunate to get employed by someone (current employer) who recognizes people do make mistakes. I know I’m responding a few months late and I do wish him the best of luck.
