Senior Health & Aging Support Group
Aging is an important part of all human societies reflecting the biological changes that occur, but also reflecting cultural and societal conventions. There is often considerable social pressure in many societies to sustain denial of the aging process. Join this community to discuss general issues with aging and senior health.

I am rather new to the group (Sometime in Nov) yet I don't recall any men stating a Reply.
Poopy sent me mixed messages when I saw her Avatar...But I have never heard from her better half.... Who is that guy in yer graphic anyhow Poopy?
Do they visit and go away bored or something?
Are yu men out there?
I don't want to make out . It would just be refreshing to have a man's point of view which I am sure that even YU would agree to being different .Right?
I don't know Gals - What are your thoughts on this matter?

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

"Good day notdeadye...
I look forward to making your acquaintance.I'm off just now to read a few posts.
But given we're all seniors maybe not. LOL
I'm guessing the the real reason is that men, as was highlighted by one of the posters, think differently (Mar - Venus stuff) and although some may not believe it, the book, for me, really struck home.
There are very few men I know that are looking for a woman friend. We have enough friends (guys) in our lives without those (women) complications.
We are interested in women but NOT as friends. I don't care what men may say to their female "friends" they are lying.
They may feel sorry for you, be attracted to you or your sister or some other friend, want you (in the biblical sense) but they DON'T want you as a FRIEND (I will add a caveat - if he's gay bets are off. If he is he will probably be the best friend you've ever had or are likely to ever have in your whole life).
One of the biggest problems I see in relationships is that men and women don't actually know how to 'hear' what each other are saying.
Men interpret the words women utter within a male context and vis-a-versa. So there is massive opportunities for misinterpretation and along with that can go anguish, pain, heartache, ego smashing, retaliation, revenge, hate, etc., etc., etc.
Until you learn how the other gender thinks and talks there will always be serious issues.
Example: A guy and his girlfriend go for a walk down Main Street and the girl looks into a shop window and sees something she really likes and mentions it to the guy.
GUY'S MENTAL PROCESSES: She wants that and she wants me to buy it for her. Doesn't she know that I've just had to pay for the mortgage and the auto got smashed last week and it's in the shop for repairs and I'll have to pay for that as well. Why is she always just thinking about herself and always asking he to buy her stuff? Why can't I ever satisfy her needs. She's making me feel useless and a failure. BITCH!!!
WOMAN'S MENTAL PROCESSES: I really like the look of that. I'd like to let Jack know so that he gets to understand my tastes. I don't want him to buy it for me just to let him know. Maybe we could have a talk about it and other stuff in the window - that would be fun. I'd like the intimacy that we could develop by walking around and looking at beautiful bit and pieces in the windows and JUST TALKING.
This is one of the problems of Mars and Venus. Only 1 of hundreds.
Chin up. It can get good if you can get a guy to read, think and understand how women think and talk. Could save a million relationships. Good luck trying if he's a jock.
