Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.

Learned Behaviors like cutting have to be un-learned and replaced with Positive Behaviors, coping skills/techniques. Self harm is very addictive and hard to stop once you get into it. So the quicker you learn to replace it with a positive behavior the better.
Are there any normal Therapists in your area, Psychologist with a Ph.D? That's who I would go to, to be treated for the Self Hard and learn how to deal with your life struggles in a more positive way. Therapies like Cognitive Behavioral and DBT are very good at teaching you how to handle your emotions and stressors without cutting.
And just my 2 cents...GAD is a Mental Health Issue and technically only a Psychiatrist can Diagnose or Rule out Mental Health Illness in a patient. They have the expertise and experience to do so. A GP doesn't and can't Diagnose Mental Illness.
You might check into a Psychiatrist in a town near you even if it mean having to stay overnight somewhere for the appt.
Oh and just so you don't think I'm blowing smoke I am BiPolar for 31 years, have been a cutter for 38 years, mostly reformed, am a retired Clinical Psychologist Ph.D and have done all modalities of Therapy including CBT, Dynamic, BioFeedback, and multiple courses of DBT. I'm also in DBT Peer Group that helps create curriculum and classes in different areas.
Take care.
