I can't say that I really have any embarrassing stories.. other than being embarassed if anyone finds out. When my mom found out she made me strip down to my underwear to examine me.

when my scars were fresh, i got embarrassed & annoyed when ppl would ask what happened...so i'd be the cat did it, but when i was going into labor with my youngest, the nurse was asking me about my arms and i was told her the same thing, but she didnt buy it b/c after i had the baby she started giving me all the pamplets on depression, and domestic violence...etc and when i asked why are giving me this she said "oh its just helpful info we give all the patients" ....yeh right!

amunoz, ha! i used to say it was the cats too! when i was in labor with my son the nurse, cheerfully said "cutter, huh?" in front of my husband and my mother in law! How rude! my mother in law knew nothing about it and I can only hope she didn't hear.

i dont have an embarrassing story to tell, but i was recently at the dr.s and i was in a gown, and he saw the cuts on my wrists. he asked me if i did it myself. i was a little nervous, but i said yes. he called the nurse in so he could examine my stomach.(which required lifting my gown) he lifted up my gown, and very casually mentioned to her "shes a cutter" because she saw all the scars on my thighs, and she just nodded like it was the most natural thing in the world, no big deal. as i looked at their faces i realized that they weren't judging me. it was just who i was. i left there feeling like maybe i wasnt the freak i had convinced myself i was all these years. it kinda made me feel like there was hope for me after all.

ok i really don't have an embarassing story it wa smore or less an omg moment. so i was doing the how black eyeliner thing and evrybdy was giving me crap bout it esp my ex. he would comstantly yell wrist check at me and then start being a bitch if i didn't hold up my bare arm. needless to say i nvr showed him untill they were just old scars. but then one day when he was doing the how "emo routine" he gave me evryday another boy said she does always wear long sleeves. so then he shooted for everyone to hear "omigod ur emo! u do cut urself!" so yea i had ppl staring at me and it felt like evryone knew and was judging me i wanted to kill him.

my friend cut herself with one of those things that you stick the pencil in and its sharp to draw a perfect circle that she got out of another.. more normal friend would wouldnt understans pencil case.. in an empty classroom.. and a few of them came back and there was like- blood all over the floor and she was crying.. good times in grade nine.

Its not an embarrassing story, because I dont think she really caught on, bt one time I cut really bad and I needed bandages so I went to the school nurse and she freaked, she asked what happened and I told her I ran into some bobwire trying to get to school

I also don't have any particylar embarrasing stories, however I do remember when I was 15 or so and I was babysitting a little girl, her dad noticed my arm and FREAKED and for the rest of my babysitting time he turned into my personal therapst! It was so annoying because I didn't want him to ask about it every time I was over infront of his wife!

this is my most embarasing and heartbraking story

it was a sunday and a little girl in my sunday school class(ya i'm a sunday school teacher) came running over to me with tears in her eyes and said "ms.meeshy what happened? i want u to be ok." she was 7

that nearly killed me

one time i had kind of minor cuts that i didn't think anyone would notice so i wore short sleeves. but my sister saw and was like what happened to your arm? and i was like freaking out and couldn't even think of a good excuse so i was like uh...uhm..i ran into a uhm, table.
-you ran into a table?
-yeah.
-how do you get a bunch of scrathes all over you from a table?
-uh. gotta go.
but she totally bought it so i guess it was okay lol.

I had to get an OD sorted out in hos one day, because I just went psycho, and they were dresing all the cuts I had put on my legs at the same time, and one nurse (who was really knd and respectful) walked out and while she was gone another older nurse came in and she was like, "oh so youve ben playing silly buggers again i see" " You gone for the picnic rug pattern this time hey"(like a croshatch pattern - uninentional) It was so embarassinng - I just wanted to yell at her that it isnt Sily buggers - in fact I hadnt even wanted to come in, and if I was playing silly buggers I wouldnt do it like that, but I just felt so awful that I stayed quiet.

Now I cut pictures, because If they ever have to be dressed I like to see what reaction I can get - But Im not into it for the reaction of course, just more like a "If they dont like that then f*%k em Il give them dont like" attitude.

well i had some relatively fresh scabs and my fiance is always telling me that i dont have to be embarrassed about my SI and that i dont need to wear long sleeves all the time....so it was really nice outside for the first time all year and i wore a tank top....

well his mom and step dad took us to go look at someplace for our wedding and we went to dinner right after. i was sitting next to his mom (a round table) and she noticed them! she was like "omg! what happened to ur arm!"

i was totally speechless and totally caught off guard cause she literally stopped in the middle of a conversation.....i was like :"umm...ummm..." and thats when his step dad mentioned "im sure the cat did it" really casually (you could definatly tell they werent cat scratches) and i was like "yup...thats what happened"....

i was soooo embarrassed and spent the rest of my meal with my arms crossed trying to cover the scabs

A few weeks ago I hit a wall and had to have my hand bandaged up and I was in dance class and a girl asked what happened right in the middle of class and everyone just stops and stares at me waiting for an answer and I just said Oh it's really embarrassing and they just kept bugging me about it now that wasn't fun
