Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
There's a website that you can go to called www.halfofus.org , you would go to the "Dealing With" tab at the top and on the dropdown menu go to the "Self Injury" tab. They can give you lots of resources, phone numbers of places that can help you, text numbers to people you can talk to. It's a good site, with lots of info on many different Emotional and Psychological Issues.
These might give you a good place to start since your mom doesn't seem very helpful. What about your dad, is he in the picture?
The main thing is to check out these sites so that you can get some help before your urges to cut take over. If you have a job or allowance and want to try the online Therapist, message me and I'll send you the info.
Try to be strong and work your coping skills on not cutting, okay.
But I promise you it gets better. Although I continue to struggle, I have an incredible support system. There's the S family who took me in during a depressive episode and continue to offer their love and support (in fact in half an hour Mama S is going to call me as she will every sunday while I'm in this rough patch). There's friends who drop everything to drive me to doctor appointments when I'm in crisis or let me even come sleep in their beds with them when I'm at risk to myself. There's my housemates who keep an eye on me, some who struggle with mental illness themselves. I have an army of love behind me. You will too. It gets so, so, so much better.
This week I was losing my mind and desperate to cut and this crisis text line helped me: https://www.crisistextline.org/
