Scoliosis affects all ages. Unlike the naturally occurring curves in the spine, scoliosis causes the spine to curve abnormally to the left or right.
I had a successful A/P spinal fusion for childhood scoliosis in Jan. 2006.
Vertebrae T3-the sacrum were fused with cages surrounding the lower two vertebrea for added stability. Although my back is feeling great, my sciatic nerve is causing me excruciating pain and I continue to need Vicodin for the pain. Has anyone else experienced this? Since I have no discs it is thought this might be related to piriformis syndrome.

I've also had a spinal fusion about 3 years ago. T-3 to L-4 were fused and I made a full recovery. However, as soon as I started playing sport again, I began to feel intense pain in my hips and legs. I was diagnosed with piriformis syndrome and the sciatica was excrutiating. I finally recieved treatment through a chiropractor. He preformed a technique called ART or Active Relsease Technique. It was painful, but as soon as I stood up, my sciatica was relieved for the first time in months. I stuck with the treatment and now I'm fully recovered. My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
