Too much money is the only condition I know of which is easy to find support for. I think. I haven't suffered that condition often enough to be certain.

But you are absolutely right that schizophrenia is harder than most conditions to find support for. What support is available is typically based on stigma and stereotypes that are far, far from helpful. Even here on DS, the schizophrenia board is so slow moving that it feels like more work than support.

Hi guys, I have had Schizophrenia for many years and I too also feel lonely. Feel like no one understands me, this is why I just joined DS. I do hope it helps us eventually.

Don't tell people you have schizophrenia. Is there a reason that you do? Can they tell otherwise? Be private, it's your personal business.

^ Same here. We're all your friends here! We're all like a family. You're welcomed any time to talk to us. I deeply understand what you're feeling. I don't have schizophrenia but I do have a mental illness so I can relate. And you will find people. It seems like none of us will ever find people but eventually we do. And the thoughts go away. Blessings to you. You're a beautiful being. Don't let these mental illness labels get the best of you. It's just an unnecessary label. We didn't ask for it. We're facing challenges in life and in return we're labeled as "mentally ill." Let's change that shit! Let's call ourselves champs! We overcome obstacles everyday. I've started seeing my old psychologist and he is great, he helps me every time. There was one point he told me that I wanted to share with you guys. He said there is always something good in every bad, but it might take time till it becomes good but eventually it usually turns into something good. He then gave me an example. If a person turns blind in all of a sudden, then that's persons hearing becomes super sonic, they can develop an ability with their hearing that really does help them, none of the ordinary people don't have because they can see. So this is a positive thing that something so hard and sad becomes a help for the good.

My son is 22 and just started hallucinating and having delusions back in August. He has always had a hard time keeping friends. He still hasn't come to terms with this new illness and denies there is anything wrong. Schizophrenia runs rampant on both sides of his family. I hope when he comes to come to grips with it I can introduce him to daily strength, so he can get to know others like him.
