So I've been engaged 6 months now, and my fiance is schizophrenic.. I refuse to leave him for something that isn't in his control, but how do I deal with it? He gets mad so easily, and he's so paranoid... It gets so hard to handle sometimes and I just wanna throw my hands in the air and give up. I wish I could understand what goes on with him, but I don't. I'm not schizoprenic, so how am I supposed to know how he feels? What he thinks? I try so hard to be understanding, but it's impossible to understand.. :( I just want to make him happy, but lately it seems like he's getting worse, and he won't go to a doctor, he says he doesn't want to face it.. I don't want to tell him he needs to go, cause I don't want him to feel like I'm accusing him of being crazy, or like I don't love who he is.. I'll always love him, and I'll stick by his side no matter what.. There is nothing wrong with him. But how do I make it so it's easier on both of us..? Any advice would be great..

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
You can love someone but you can't solve their problems for them--and in the mean time his refusal to deal with his disease is causing him to be abusive towards you (and possibly himself?)
He needs help--so please do suggest it. He doesn't have to take medications if he doesn't want to --but he should at least acknowledge his illness and see a doctor to discuss his options.
The journey is a highly personal one. No matter how much I love someone, I cannot take the journey for them. With my own co-dependency issues, the hardest part of love is leaving my loved ones space to work out their own issues.
I know it is hard. Bless you for caring so much.
