They say that alcoholism, which I have, is the only disease you think you don't have. But, I am also schizo affective, and I keep forgetting! I keep expecting more from myself than I'm able to do, I call myself lazy because there's only been one job in the last 20 years that I stuck at for more than 4 months. Part time, of course. That job was supervising patients in hospital - sitting beside their bed most of the time, reading a book. Man, what a great job for me! No stress!
There's other ways I'm affected, even though I'm stable on meds. I have trouble with feeling tired, needing lots of sleep and down time. I also have trouble getting motivated to do my art - that's a big one.
Relationships arent' too bad these days, except for family who don't want to know. Although I've recently reconnected with my beautiful neice - in the last 6 months - and we're pretty close.
I was in and out of psych hospital over a 10 year period, and it's like I can't grasp that I was really that ill. That I AM that ill.
