Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and...
For me it means a low pain active day.
Where I can get up shower without sheer force & simply go on with my day.
I love to laugh & most of all bring laughter to others. I'll try my best for this sick around me no matter how I feel. Yet it's nice to feel like laughing.
Nice to not mind making dinner instead of dreading it.
Oh how I love those days.
My first grandson gives me joy & something to push through the pain.
Some days I just wish I did not have to push through, you know?
Here's to more good days!

To be able to think clearly and not sleep most of the day is great. I've been getting a couple days a week like that now that the Enbrel is finally doing a little something. With the clear head comes some ambition that I sorely lost the past 2 years and a little humor and laughter.
I'll take the pain if you take the fog away!
. A good day is where I can go volunteer with the police dept and not be stuck behind the laminator all day while doing kid i.ds in the Mobile command post but I am actually out interacting with the children weighing, measuring, fingerprinting, etc. On less pain days I am doing these things that involve sitting, rising, walking, and bending. A good day is where the grandkids are here and I can keep up without watching the clock obsessively because I am in pain or exhausted
It is when I am feeling thankful for whatever the day brings, where I dont sit around feeling negative about life, and where I allow myself to feel close to God and grateful for my friends.
But, here's the trick (for me, that is). I find something everyday to make me feel good, even if it's for a short time. The active intent to bring something into my life, or to be aware of it, is a good thing.
Nonightshades. I'm assuming your a guy - actually, I just looked at your profile - so yes, you're in the minority of RA patients, but why the "ummm, never mind?" A good day maybe is no erectile dysfunction? It happens. So what?. I don't want to put you on the spot, but I'd like to feel comfortable that you're not alluding to and leading anyone on to something sexist.

i've been trying to take a cat nap a day - maybe 20-40 minutes. it's been helping i think because i can't sleep for more than about 6 or 7 uninterrupted hours a night. i try to drink plenty of fluids and take all my supplements and eat a decently balanced diet.
Find it very very hard to deal with, right along with the all consuming exhaustion. These are the things that others do not get. Very hard to explain to others.
Such a misunderstood disease.
God bless those good days.

But then it's a low pain day, I don't feel overtired and I'm looking forward to going out, even if it's just for a coffee or to do the grocery shopping. I can also enjoy talking to others, either on the phone or in person. I feel that I am in control, not the rotten RA.
I try to make the most of the good days, and yes, Sammy, here's to more good days for all our RAers.
