I have noticed "some" relief with this cream. I do rub it heavily onto both knees and also the back of my neck where it meets the shoulders. I just remembered I also use it on ankles. It not a drastic relief but I notice some relief after a couple days of using it at least twice a day. It's worth me keeping getting it refilled.

I used to use Voltran cream about a 2 years ago. At the time it helped a little as delkin said. It affords some relief. After a while it was I started having so much pain from RA over all my body that I did not bother using it anymore. I have tried some creams now with a lot of knee pain and neck pain OTC which I ordered online which is Two old goats creame and Penetrex someone mentioned here. I actually think I got more relief using Penetrex cream which I have used recently. If Voltran cream does help you Kim I would say go for it. Also some things that may be helpful are the Fentyln patch or Lidacaine patch. Have used with some relief. Good luck in the cream patch dept. Hoping you feel well soon.

Voltarin gel can be used on any joints. In Australia, it is sold OTC. I have used it in the past and found it helped some, especially with inflammation. It's also worthwhile for me to have a tube here.

I find it most helpful for joints that are very close to the surface, like my fingers and wrists. It also helped with a recent bout of pain in my sternum and ribs. It's over the counter in Canada, too. I pick some up whenever we're up in Vancouver. You are not supposed to take any oral NSAIDS (ibuprofen, naproxen, etc.) while using the gel.

NSAIDS cause stomach issues and sometimes bleeding for me. I've actually been thinking about this medication over the past month or so as I wouldn't need to worry about the aforementioned side effects.

Even if it takes 10% of the pain away, I would use it.

I'm going to contact my doctor tomorrow.

Off hand, does anyone know what size the biggest tube of this medication is prescribed in? I want the giant tube!

I've used it twice, on doctor's order. It helped the first couple of days, but by the end of each treatment (1 week) it was the same as before I started. It seems to work for some and not for others and you never know until you've tried. I hope it works for you if you decide to try it.

I got two tubes for$89 . It did not help. For that price i expected at least a notice of difference. I've gone back to icy hot.

Voltaran Gel worked well on my hands, where it did not have to go very deep. For deeper aches and pains I use Salon Pas. These little patches do help some and they are not near as expensive.

Man, you guys are great. I asked my pain management physician if I could try the Voltaren gel and I've already used it twice today.

I applied it to my hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, lower back, and left knee.

I have to admit that this ointment works a little bit. For me, enough to continue with the therapy.

My stomach responds very, very poorly to NSAIDS and I take steroids. The literature that came with the Voltaren said to watch out for sudden or immediate GI issues. The percentages are very low though for stomach issues as it is a topical treatment and the medication goes systemic and most of it does not even reach the stomach.

This is more than I meant to write but thanks for bringing up the idea of this medication!
