I started to add Turmeric and Ginger root herbal supplements (capsule form) to my daily mixture of pills. (besides Enbrel and methotrexate and good old prednisone) I have read that both these herbal supplements can reduce or prevent inflammation. I am taking 1500 mg of Turmeric and 500 mg of Ginger root daily. It is too soon to know if I am benefiting from it, but I am wondering if the amount I am taking is OK, or for those of you who do take it, how many milligrams per day do you take? I don't want to take more than is considered safe, as I have read that taking too much can make your blood thinner. Of course, I had yet to discuss this with my RA doctor.....oh, and for those of you who do take it and feel you have benefited from it, how long was it before you felt it was working?
