well called the rheumy. Had to go to dr on Friday and on antibiotics for chest infection so they cancelled my orencia for this week. I've only had two doses I was so hoping not to have to put it off because it hasn't stRted working yet and I kno it can take a long time to work. I swear if they cancel me every time I get sick I will never be taking it. I have a real tendency for whatever reason to get upper resp probs. I have had trouble on all the meds. Although so far enbrell was the worst for it. I sure hope orencia won't be the same. To too it off I've either pulled a muscle in my side or given myself a hernia from coughing now I can't cough because it hurts so bad. Hope that doesn't lead to a worse prob.

Ive been on Orencia self injections for three months...so far no good.
They say it could take up to six months.

Sorry you have so much on your plate at the moment and I can imagine
just how painful your side is. I hope it doesn't lead to anything else, too.
Hopefully you will start to feel better soon.

Kimberly, I am sorry to hear you have more respiratory problems. I just finished two months of bronchitis, followed by pneumonia and in the process got three fractured ribs! Make sure you keep breathing deeply no matter how bad the side hurts, so that you don't get worse. I know how disheartening it is to get sick and not be able to take your meds, I had just started MTX when I got sick. Thought I was better, started MTX again, got sick again, rinse and repeat. I saw my Rheumy on Friday and just sat in her office and cried. (apparently not the first to do that as she whipped out the Kleenex box fairly quickly!) I'll be thinking about you...probably everytime I breathe deep (ouch, ouch, ouch), roll over, (ouch, ouch, ouch) or sneeze, (huge ouch, ouch, ouch)! Cyber hugs to you,

Wow! It seems that you just can't get a break. Well, it is time that that changes. Praying that you recover quickly, and get back on the meds that you need. Take care.

hang in there. I ended up orencia simply as a rule out, it being better for my constant pneumonias than humira and enbrel and mtx (which I all took prior) and because of its short life so that when my lungs croak I have the best chance to heal the quickest. it is out of your system now, which sucks for your RA but not for your lungs, and your lungs can fight the infection and they will. be strong. get better. :)

i know what you are going through. this is my pattern also and I am just finished healing from an infection yet having a dental implant next week so of course they put the halt sign up again.
