Balls of my feet mainly but sometimes my swelling will go into my ankles also.

Anyone ever have any swelling covering the tops of your feet?

Yes, my swelling is across the tops of my feet and my shoe size has gone from a 9 1/2 med to a 10 1/2 wide with laces spread as wide as possible since October. The "knuckles" on my toes look like little sausages...I also have achilles tendinitis with my ankles and heels swelling. Fun....fun.....

I have...the tops of my feet were swelling when I was first dx'ed One or the other would turn bright red and burn and immediately swell to the point it was making it hard to walk. since using the mtx..I am one of the lucky ones as my rummey says..that I do not swell at all. Just saw him yesterday...

Yep, tops of both feet, ankles & sausage toes since February. No redness though. I call them Flintstone feet. Soles & Achilles are starting to join the party these last few weeks. Achilles is red & swollen, soles are painful but I don't notice any swelling yet. It's moving into my calves now too. It causes my ankles & toes to not bend on bad days which makes walking tough.

5mo on Enbrel & almost 2mo on prednisone didn't help. Numbers & swelling actually got worse. Starting infusions in August to see if that brings relief. All tests for kidneys, lungs, heart including congestive heart failure are negative. I guess it is what it is.

Ironically, just yesterday in the middle of the day (out shopping for a new suit for my husband) the top of my right foot from toes to just above the ankle, puffed up, turned red and started to burn. By the time we got home about 4 hours later it was indeed a "flintstone foot" and is still like that this morning. Very painful and a new problem area for me. I took my MTX last night and I am hoping it goes down! This must be another of those common and ever-so-not-lovely RA things!

Oh yes, swollen feet and little sausage toes. Also, my ankles swell and my calves. Three times I have had venous Doppler scans because this swelling is similar to that from a blood clot but all have been negative, thank goodness.

everywhere up to and including my ankles. i definitely notice swelling on the tops of my feet and sometimes my toes. i haven't noticed the bottoms/balls of my feet but the swelling across the tops of my feet can be significant.

I get it worst on the tops of my feet. At times my ankles are swollen too.

I have noticed a lot of swelling all across the tops of my feet, but not as much on my toes. Although it is extremely painful when you press the part of your foot where your toes meet. They ache and feel like the joints are being pulled apart from the inside out. So, I know there's joint swelling but I usually can only see visible swelling across the tops of my feet and sometimes around my ankles.

Several months ago my feet were so swollen the doctor didn't even have me take off my socks. My feet sweep so they are round. I don't know how else to explain it. It as though they are not flat on the bottom and there is visible swelling on the top. My toes don't swell too badly. I have a great deal of pain on the base joints on my toes which I have new orthotics. They do help relieve some of that pressure. My ankles swell significantly when they are inflamed.
