I have had pain in my armpits! It feels like somebody is pushing a metal fence post into the center of my pits, really hard, when it happens. I spoke to my rhuemy about this and she told me that it is most likely from the inflammation in my shoulder joints. I notice it happens if I have to drive a lot.

I have also had pain in my forearms. I think it is coming from my hands/wrist and just continues up. Also, when my shoulders are really bad they can make the whole arm hurt.

I don't have a lot of swelling with my RA. I get some in my hands and feet but no a huge amount. It also looks more like a generalized swelling and not necessarily coming from a particular joint.

i do have swelling in the armpits (mostly on the side of the breast and down the armpit and back of the armpit - all around the armpit). my left is worse than right. while i drive i feel like dropping my left ark on my lap. if i try to hold the steering with my left arm i feel the pain in my elbow to armpit. my arms feel very weak and i just feel like dropping them down. and i feel my hands and fingers shaky too while i cook or clean.

i have the same swelling around my knees (sides and back).

rest helps. hot showers and i apply penetrex topical creme which helps.

i feel this swelling and weakness in arms mostly in the mornings. i take my prednisone after breakfast then after i start feeling better.
