I have also had pain in my forearms. I think it is coming from my hands/wrist and just continues up. Also, when my shoulders are really bad they can make the whole arm hurt.
I don't have a lot of swelling with my RA. I get some in my hands and feet but no a huge amount. It also looks more like a generalized swelling and not necessarily coming from a particular joint.

i have the same swelling around my knees (sides and back).
rest helps. hot showers and i apply penetrex topical creme which helps.
i feel this swelling and weakness in arms mostly in the mornings. i take my prednisone after breakfast then after i start feeling better.
