success with Remicade!

hi everyone,
I just wanted to share some happy news. I started Remicade about 6 weeks ago, and I feel like a new person! I'm due for my third infusion on Friday, and I'm actually looking forward to it- that's how good I'm feeling about this drug. I was definitely freaked out about the fact that it's an infusion, and I was worried that if I did have a bad side effect, the drug would stay in my system and I'd be dealing with the side effect for a long time. But so far, I've had no problems and a really dramatic improvement. I can even see my knuckles again! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this lasts, and that all of you find a treatment that works equally well for you.

I'm so happy for you! Your story gives me great hope. I began Remacade 3 weeks ago, but so far there's no change. I was given my second dose just last week, but it's still too early to know. The infusions leave me exhausted and very achey for about 3 or 4 days, which is tough. I hope it will get easier someday. Are you on Methotrexate as well?

That's great news Caren! I too had great success with Remicade. I did great for a long time. I'm on Enbrel now, and luckily both have worked really good for me. However, it's amazing when you've been feeling so sick and then feeling suddenly better.

I am so happy for you!!! The hope of finding the meds that work is what keeps us all going. I am waiting for the Retuxan infusion to start working, its been 4 weeks and I still have lots of pain and swelling!!

I'm so glad to hear that Remicade is working for you!! My mother was on Remicade and though she was doing extraordinarily well on it, the side effects became extremely severe and dangerous and she had to be removed from the treatment. Still, for the time she was on it she also said it was a 'dramatic improvement' and I got to see first hand what that was like. I cannot tell you "congratulations" enough!!!
