Thanks for confirming that I wasn't imagining things camba! I noticed she's been missing too and have no clue as to why. Although I'm getting more and more used to this clueless state...

Camba, I messaged Scarlett a couple of weeks ago to see how she was. This was her reply.

"How kind of you to think of me! Thank you so much, you made my day. : )
I am getting such good care from my family and friends, I'm truly blessed"

It sounded as if she was recovering well and had plenty of support.

WOW - I didn't realize I was missed - thanks guys, that's really nice to be thought of! I lurk now and then which is why I noticed this thread, but had been too tired and in pain to join in (read: feeling sorry for myself) before this.

I had my total hip replacement (right side) in October. It was way, way, way more difficult than I had imagined. Hardest and most painful surgery/recovery I've ever had. So I essentially became a hermit while I tried to just get through the angst. I had nothing at all positive to contribute here, I was a ball of self-pity and so I just focused on getting myself in a better place - physically and mentally.

Time heals all. I'm doing much better now, except for being terrified of the next one. Which my surgeon and I are tentatively looking at next summer to do. I think next time will be better - I will choose a different hospital. Much of my anguish was caused by the crappy hospital I went to - my pain was not managed from the get-go (long, dreadful story - worst and least humane nurses I've ever encountered - I won't bore y'all with details!).

But the good news is - the pain in my right hip is totally GONE. It's a miracle!

Anyway - I will do my best to catch up here. And please know that I'm always here for anyone who needs to talk, vent, whatever. : )

Congratts on the pain free hip ...take good care and hope the rest is speedy .

I knew that is what happened. I'm the same way, when I'm in bad pain I completely become an island. I knew you just had that surgery. BUT.... Your back and better, YAY. =)

Off to get my Remicade infusion today. Last one was a month before surgery and I am READY.

Great to hear from you! And a PAIN FREE hip - that deserves a HIP HIP HOORRAY!!! Best news I have heard in a very long time!

Sorry for the torture you had to endure at the awful hospital, but lesson learned. Next time will be better, and guess what, then you will have 2 PAIN FREE hips!
