For myself, I am being kind of stubborn I guess. I've had to give up so many things that I enjoy (hobbies etc). Believe it or not, doing work with my tractor is one of my favorite things, and I am trying everything to figure out how to still do them. Just something about the feeling of the diesel engine in the Deere and the feeling of accomplishing something each time.
It sounds like you've done a lot of good things around your house to help which I really need to do also. The problem comes from lack of funds though - been off work since September so there is nothing extra in the budget (actually not enough). Grab bars in the tub/shower are a priority right now, but there are no studs behind the shower enclosure to fasten grab bars to. A real puzzle for me in how to get this done without tearing the whole thing out.
Try looking into the DIY website after you determine what kind of shower bars you want - Not all of them have to be installed into the wall ....
Tractors - ah yes- I do understand - was building a '55 Chevy two door post and now that's on hold -

i also bought a shower chair so that i cant spent a few more minutes in the shower and enjoy the hot water. my knees are so bad that i cant stand for more time - they feel shaky.
i also bought an electric vegetable/onion cutter (looks like a small food processor) which works with a button.
this is a great thread. good to know about new things too. i liked the heating toilet seat cover, crocs shoes, and some other things which i wanna take a look into. great ideas.
(Yeah, I just got it so I'm a little excited. But it's great!)
