Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and...
I sweat copeously, and this is blamed on RA and Pain meds. I know if I take as little pain med as I can, I do not sweat as much
If you are sweating a lot, it is advisable to drink gatorade or something, to replace electrolites lost.
The meds can also build up in your system and start causing problems, or if you are taking generic, pharmacy's do not always the same generic and some of the carriers may be different and cause a reaction
Bet of luck..Hot flashes are bad enough without itching too!
However, I'd suggest getting it checked out by a doctor. It may not be related to RA at all.
Hope you get some relief soon.
At first i needed it for depression, but rheummy only prescribes this for pain. The day i accidentally skipped it, my legs felt heavy, but i've had the knee/foot surgeries
When i get towels out of the drier, oh my, the heat wave hits my head.
With our humid Midwest summers, it's going to be hell sweating, i will ask the rheummy for a lower dose of cymbalta, or a similar one
I used to take Lyrica for nueropathy, for yrs, it made me gain weight
CYmbalta and Lyrica are very expensive..and nuerontin..wouldn't be good for depression
can't win for trying sometimes, huh?
with my hot flashes if I am home I have to rip off my long pants and put on shorts , for example. if not at home I have to run outside or in front of a fan.......I mean, I can't "take it' another second......like I am going to absolutely melt or explode. horrid. they are slowing down currently thank God.
i'm currently not on prednisone but that is probably changing soon. I do worry about diabetes. I have been told in the past I was borderline.
I could be wrong and it be hot flashes. That would be better than side effects from meds that I really need to take. As soon as I can see a doctor I will see what they say and let yall know. Thank you again for your thoughts and replies. Love and hugs Terri
Although I don't think I'm turning pink but I never pay enough attention. To busy heading for the door or the fridge in effort to cool off.
I'm in my 40s but last my doctor checked I was not in menopause.
It is awful & like you I do feel like I'm burning up or on fire.
I was wondering if it had something to do with the RA also.
I get night sweats also & have for the last few yrs. This is new to me, something that just started this past year. There are mornings or days my body temperature seems off. Like mornings I put my robe on only to start sweating, take it off only to find myself chilled. Crazy as some days there is no in between.
I know ask everyone else if they feel warm as I don't trust my own body to adjust the heat by.
Hope you find some answers, its sure no fun.
God bless, Sammy
