I used to be very social. Now I've gotten reclusive and prefer to avoid people and noise.
This happens to a lot of people, you are not weird.
Since I was very young, perhaps even as a baby according to my mom, I have had issues with sudden, out of place, loud noises. Like thunder or balloons popping. Hate them. Typically loud places like bars, concerts or similar places make it to where I get so frazzled that I can't understand people who are talking directly to me, even though I hear them.
Lights started bothering me in my 20s. That's when the dizziness began. It gets worse when they're all combined together though. A thunderstorm while having a birthday party in a house is one of my worst nightmares!
try shutting off the television when the place is wild and hopping. :). hide the remotes of pull the cable out of the wall. mess with people :). everyone was engaged with each other so it shuts down one extraneous noise maker that is just background sound only. that always makes me laugh when people have a gathering and the box is blaring and no one is really looking at it. also without being anti social have you a man cave or a woman cave anywhere in the house when you are out of your mind?
when reading all the posts the sugar seemed to make a lot of sense additionally.
glad you did not hit your head :)
I think I'm just getting frustrated at the whole "health" situation. The heat sensitive and now the noise sensitive problems are just stressing me out.
I find that thinking about the coming Texas heat and going to noisy places is almost a brain overload.
I saw an ENT specialist who is also a balance specialist because of some dizziness. He sent me for a brain MRI, a neck MRI, a head MRI and a CT scan. Fortunately, more or less normal.
Turned out to be Benign Postural Disorder, due to the crystals in my ears, as Nerot says. Dizziness, vertigo, losing balance, falling.
Sorry that you fell over - probably was caused by you tilting your head back too quickly and closing your eyes under the shower. I've also had it happen whilst I've been hanging washing out to dry, had to reach up and put your head back.
