Well–I haven't found a better one. This site seems to be supported by a multi-million $ Atlanta based corporation in the "digital health care business" with some involvement by the Dr Oz group. I suspect its revenues are generated by providing demographic statistics and analysis to the wealthy medical and pharmaceutical industries. From a user standpoint, at least that avoids the crude sidebar and popup ad economics that most support and enthusiast websites seem to eventually resort to to survive.

Yes, I don't like the new corporate format of this site either. It's stripped-down, skinny–typeface look lacks warmth and sacrifices content in favor of stark simplicity. Some of the faded, light gray navigation buttons tucked away in odd corners are impossible to see. I find it nothing but a me-too copy of recent styling trends in the tech industry that are so ubiquitous it is frankly getting old and boring to me. Nonetheless, I do find the larger typeface (at least on how I set up my browser) easier to read and the ability to edit and change posts an improvement. Now if they can go back to more point and click functionality and less menu-driven site navigation and fix some the lost features of the old site, I would be happy. Maybe they will and maybe they won't but for now, I don't know of a better support site free of obnoxious sidebar and popup ads.

Oceans11, is that the UK site? If so, I was pretty much banned from it years ago since they would not allow me to post links to credible references. The site I'm referring to abhorred non-UK patients, particularly Americans, because most of us think their insurance provides minimal healthcare at its best. [Sorry to offend any people from the UK - but it is what it is.]

I'm really disgusted with this site but I keep returning, hoping they've improved it. Sadly, it looks like the developers have abandoned it.

There is another website that I don't like [because it's hosted by a third party firm that seems to want to sell vitamins], but if you can tolerated all the people who promote vitamins and HATE Big Pharma, as they call it, then google "Inspire Rheumatoid Arthritis." Frankly, I don't care to be in their company.

Here's an idea......what if we just didn't post for a week?

CA Lynn, we would would have to get everyone from every forum to agree to not post for a week for it to be effective. I would imagine they have lost so many people, that a few dozen or hundreds gone wouldn't phase them.

I hate the box where you have to post things the most of all. It is an invitation to bad English and grammar. Because it is so difficult to go back and scroll and correct spelling, etc. I'm old school, and between wrong corrections by auto-correct, having to painfully teach all my devices that yes, sero, is a word, and I don't want zero, and my own mistakes, the little box goes against everything I am, and the way I was raised.

Sometimes I think they set up this new forum, hoping all of us old, long winded types would get discouraged and leave the site, replacing it with hip young people who don't care about their spelling and grammar, and would never go past 140 characters. Is this site guilty of ageism? They sure don't seem to want to keep people around who have eye sight problems, and hand problems which makes scrolling and scrolling difficult.

Yes I dont like this like the old DS. I first had trouble logging on with my password but I got on. I am on another site called inspire. Its not to bad.

Inspire is the site that is hosted by a third party company, whose moderators seem to be very palsy with a lot of people who are pro-vitamin and hate legitimate drugs. The Arthritis Foundation, about a year or so ago, opted to let Inspire host their website, so they [AF] migrated the membership over.......and lost a ton of members in the process. The format was different, required a learning curve.....it was just awful. Plus Inspire is very much into holistic stuff. Plus the OA people are convinced they know everything about RA and never fail to tell RA sufferers the OA'ers have it worse. So good luck with that.

I guess I would have to disagree in regards to inspire web site. I think there is vitamin crazed people or those who are into holostic ideas no matter what site your on. I remember seeing those on DS also. I pick and choose what I want out of posts and pass over the ones that do not interest me. I have found inspire to be a good alternative to DS

I am a (usually silent) member of the Inspire psoriatic arthritis site. It is, as others have said about the RA site, a cesspool of scientific illiteracy, people hawking all manner of pseudo-cures, and a deep fear and loathing of any sort of actual medical treatments. Total Wild West, where people can and will say anything. I was once called a fascist for trying to stand up for reason and logic. The only other PsA one I've seen is the polar opposite: basically only the moderators reply to anything, and conversations are very guarded. I miss having a place to go.

The GOOD thing about the Inspire site is that it frustrated me to the point that I found the DS site.
