I was diagnosed around 3 years ago since then I have really went downhill. I have a hard time with just about everything even little things like making supper or doing dishes. Haven't been able to sleep in my bed for quite awhile, can't afford to buy a new bed. My husband does not understand any of this. I also have fibromyalgia. He says I just use this as an excuse to not do anything. I would give anything to be able to stand and cook a meal again or go for a walk without excruciating pain. How do you handle not having any support. I know it's hard for someone to understand what we go through because it's not visiable I just am at the end of my rope and don't know what to do.
Mine attends visits now & then. Truely I think he's resentful of the situation. It's easier not to deal with it. As stated there is no way they can understand nor can they fix us.
Perhaps putting him on a support group if you feel he won't attend a dr visit, or printing out some Educational info.
Maybe attach a letter to it explaining how this makes you feel.
Only you know how your husband is. I don't mean any offense but there are those who are not capable of thinking of others more then theirselves,
I'm so sorry. It's hard enough to have a bomb like RA dropped on you.
reach out & get that support you deserve. This group can be a saving grace & extremely helpful with learning about RA.
Im sorry Ray. It does go both ways. There is no discrimination when it comes to understanding & support.
Marlene my husbands much the same. Lord knows if he makes to an appointment he does not share any important facts.
My heart goes out to you Angel, I have the same & it's tough & exhausting. Hang in there.

Iretz... very good idea. My husband would never even take the time to come here and see how this affects everyone. In fact, I would be accused of "copying" everyone's symptoms because that's what I would believe RA to be. So what I do? NOTHING. I hurt and cry in pain by myself. Wait...I can't cry! I think I have sjogren's syndrome too.
Angela....I really feel for you because support and understanding is so important. I hope you can find a solution and some peace of mind and do what your heart tells you you need to do.
