Gold treatment for RA

I am not having good results so far with my treatment and am so concerned with side effects since my bad experience with enbrel...I am on mtx. folic acid and prenisone....Has any one ever used the gold treatment?.......thanks memmay

I'm remicade and metho 2.5mg. I'm not in so much pain but, I'm still swollen and I can walk too long b/c of the pain in my lower back

Not me. I remember my Grandmother getting what she called "gold" injections in her hip, and she said "they work!".
What it is, how it's taken, anything about it - ??? ' can't wait to see what people have to say.

I know I've mentioned it before, my treatments but I want to throw them out there as they do work great for me. I chose the "no side effects" route. Believe it or not, there are drugs out there that can put you in remission without side effects.

Im on folci acid, methotrexate (sp??), mobic, and flexamin for my RA.
And so far they have been working ok for me.

My mom had gold shots about 20 yrs ago. They started to help some then the Dr office closed down. She went to Another Rheumy and he took her off them as he said the amt was too high and it could have killed her. It's not to say the treatment is dangerous he was a very bad Dr. Someone she knew told her the gold shot took all her pain away and she was able to give up her wheelchair.
