Hi Kaye,

It's normal for Don to feel depressed. You'll do the same from time to time. This is a terrifying diagnosis for all of us.

Don't worry about going directly to the Gamma Knife people. We all need to be very proactive. The oncologist would also be more concerned about controling the mets in the brain first and foremost. You are very blessed to have a daughter in the medical field.

It's great that y'all were able to get out and be with family. We all need the love, support, and laughter.

Hi, well Don will be having the gamma knife surgery tomorrow. His brain lesions are 1 larger 2.4cm and 4 smaller ones 2mm to 7mm. We went and saw the oncologist and he confirmed the one lung met also small but he also told us it looked like there is something suspicious on each of his ribs but the thing he was concerned about was a larger tumor (?) on his sacrum. We will be seeing a radiologist and he will be starting on Votrient. It keeps getting worse, I'm so upset and trying to not fall apart in front of him. Is there a chance he can make it through this?

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We are finally semi adjusting to everything, on Wednesday Don will be having a spine MRI and we will be seeing the oncologist on Friday again.

my husband had the cyber knife, i assume that is the same as a gamma knife? He had a lesion on his L4 and the cyber knife worked great except that he did develop neuropathy, painful but was controlled with RX, hope all has gone well with your husbands surgery

i had wide spread renal cell to include a significant numbers in both lungs. After a full nephrectomy and removing most of both adrenal glands a couple dozen lymphnodes and some fatty tissue my immune system started working on the spots in the lungs and then got back on the sutent. Since back on the sutent the spots in the lungs have been consistently shrinking and some of the small spots disappeared. I go back to the MAYO Dec 10, 11, and 12 for scans tests and appointments and I am sure I will recieve more good news. Stay positive!!!! That is one of the best weopens for fighting cancer. I decided early on that I have the best doctors and the rest is in gods hands so I have nothing to worry about. I refuse to live in fear or depression.

I hope all of you are as uplifted by prayer as I am...I know when people are praying for me and it is much appreciated.
