2012 finds me in a much better state of mind. I still have some healing to do....but on New Years Eve a close friend was killed in a car accident and that put my own pain into perspective. A cop heading to call for a pursuit had on lights but no siren (at least that is the speculation) and slammed into her car at an intersection. She was killed and her husband, son and friend were all injured. She was 54 years old. So on the days that I want to pull out my little bag of problems and hurts and dig through them, I need to stop and think about her situation. She is dead and her husband is left alone to grieve at a senseless death. While my situation sucks, I am still here.....I am healthy....and I am married to a man who has said over and over again that he made a mistake and who has continued to ask for forgiveness. I am married to a man who has worked so hard to set things right with us. These are the things I need to remind myself of on the days that negative feelings creep in.
The main thing is I am still moving forward.
I was COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS to the fact that my husband was sleeping with woman after woman and had been for eight YEARS of our 12 year marriage!!
One year ago today I was ten and a half months from dday.
One year ago today I had a husband who was a family man, loved his children, loved me, was a great provider, was my soul mate, was my rock, was the one person I could turn to for anything and wouldn't judge me.
One year ago today I was fat and happy. One year ago today I was "living the dream."
