Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

So, Thanksgiving day my family went for our regular walk around the park after stuffing ourselves. It was pretty chilly here (high of 34F) and very dry. I enjoyed the walk. We were almost back to the house when my dad asked "You wouldn't have been able to do this a few months ago, right?" and I realized he was right! I hadn't thought about my lungs once on the walk until he mentioned it. Was actually pleased about this!
BUT ... I was tired that evening after we got back to the house and Friday I was SOB all day. Satuday I was SOB all day, even after spending most of the afternoon/evening lying on the couch. My inhaler does nothing and, predictably, my anxiety is getting worse.
It is Sunday and I'm still feeling SOB. At this point, I think I'm probably just wigging myself out. My INR was 2.3 a week and a half ago and I haven't eaten anything to bring it down so I should be therapeutic. My husband is out of town this weekend, so I'm sitting in an empty house stewing and examining every ache and pain and twinge.
Need a reality check ... any suggestions out there!

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
My family did most of the work while here for the holiday - another first and that was great- but I still had the SOB. Maybe it's just the stress of the holiday - positive or negative stress might have the same effect?? I can't pretend to know but I am very tired myself today and anxious which might be due to being all alone again after having family here for a few days??
In any event, I hope it goes away soon and your dad made a good point about your doing what you couldn't do before. If I can ever get off my duff here I am going to ride the stationery bike for a little while and see if that helps? I never know how much exercise is too much or too little - do you?
Sending hugs and prayers for feeling better soon!!
Anyway, I hope that's all it is, just a little freak out and nothing more. Let us know how you're doing.
Some days are good and some are bad. Doesn't mean another PE, just means our lungs are stressed.
*grumble*
This does throw my plan of going snowshoeing in January into some jeopardy ...
c-sections because I have a difficult time breathing under the mask. Yesterday I went into a case just to do the baby, doing this did not require me to be in there the entire time and I could leave the room if I needed too. I was able to remain in the case until I had the baby taken care of but then needed to get out. I couldn't be in there for the entire case. After that, for the rest of the day and yesterday I felt like I couldn't get enough air in. I'm focusing on the positive, I was able to stay in on the case for a period of time, I couldn't do that before.
