Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
The listed symptoms are the common symptoms. Obviously not everyone experiences these nor are they all inclusive.
What I said (grin), in a different way.
There ARE 'emotionally fragile' people on this board who may not want to see something that, in their state, disturbs them. I've received a few PMs from them or been told not to post 'things like that'.
I feel that all information is good. Because I'll continue to post information that might be important to know (or interesting) I will continue to try and protect the 'more emotionally fragile' members in this way.
If you can think of a better term than 'emotionally fragile' I'll consider it. Thank you.
People may be scared, or anxious, or stressed or nervous or whatever and that doesn't mean they're fragile. The term "emotionally fragile" seems a little belittling to me. Others may not feel that way so use the term if you want. Clearly people will accept your description of them but I sure as hell wouldn't if I were them.
What you could say is simply, "this may be upsetting to some of you" and leave it at that. You don't really have to refer to their state of mind as you see it. I'm not saying info isn't good. But let people decide for themselves.
I do.
