I've watched a lot of professional tennis over the years, and have yet to have seen anyone get out right whacked in the head with a ball. Although Monica Seles got stabbed in the back once but that's pretty unusual. I used to play tennis quite a bit and I'm not even that good, and still never got clipped in the head. Unless you are completely clueless about what's going on I don't think that happens much.
I say hats freakin' off to Serena for going back to tennis. It's inspiring and another lesson that your life doesn't need to be over when you have a clot, or are on warfarin, etc. This past weekend, I rode my bike, played table tennis, bocce ball, tag football, dove in a lake, walked barefoot on gravel and hit some golf balls. And I don't have a scratch on me.
I love summer and there's no way I'm sitting on the side lines.
