Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I think you just have to experiment to see what’s most comfortable for you.

Sometime sleeping in a somewhat reclined position rather than flat on the bed can be helpful. I slept on a reclining sofa for the first week home from the hospital, and still sometimes I have trouble getting comfortable at night and sleep there from time to time.

I’m two months in from my right lung Pe and infarction. I had clots on the left as well from Birth control. I slept with like five pillows under me to prop me up and I was coughing a lot as well. However sleeping like that for too long started to hurt my back. Honestly I’m still having issues laying in one spot for a period of Time I’m constantly rotating myself im like up every two hrs it stinks. Time morning comes my right side is hurting pretty bad. A heating pad helps a lot though .

Just sleep with your head and upper body elevated and will be a bit better. I slept in my recliner and on my couch for a while before I could finally get in my bed. Once in my bed I had lots of pillows to elevate with. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
