By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Hello. My name is Michael Gumbs and on October 2015 I suffered a DVT. I was on Zarelto for a year and some change and my doctor and I decided to take me off of Zarelto on November 2016.
Today 1/1/2017 I checked into the emergency room for discomfort in my arm and chest and it turns out that I was having a Pulmonary Embolism (PE).
I was recently on a long road trip to CA from OK and we believe that the elevation changes and long road trip cause the PE.
I know the road to recovery will be long but I am strong Puerto Rican with thick skin after a long time in the Oklahoma oil business.
How is everyone doing and coming along? I feel crummy tonight but I know that tomorrow will be another day and things get better.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
There are a few of us here who had a clotting event after we stopped taking anticoagulants. It's unnerving but you kind of adjust your thinking and adapt to being on anticoagulants long term.
Sounds like you have a great attitude which to me is everything. Hang in there!

A PE is a whole different ball game than a DVT and I just have to be patient, have faith in myself, God and the Oklahoma State University Cowboys.

I am getting stir crazy but just doing the minimal housework, I get winded tired and slight chest and back pain.
I only work the weekends but have been off since Dec. 16th. Going to the doctor tomorrow to discuss results, further testing and possibility of going back to work.
Thank you again for your uplifting post but am praying for you too!!!
