By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

...was diagnosed with DVT and pulmonary emboli (both lungs) : /
...DVTs are gone...
...I'm having these sporadic chest pains...esp. at night...feels better to lay with pillows under my back...having some trouble inhaling in on lung...not short of breath...pain is about a 5 (1-10 scale)...drops to a 2 when not lying down...
...Can anyone shed light on their PE pain?

Thank you so much for sharing your info. with us. I regret hearing about your wife. Sounds like you both have been through a whole lot.
It seems to me that nobody know what it's like to be in our situation both mentally and physically...except those who have been through it. This is clear to me.
Back in the "olden days"...people trusted their dr.s without question. Now with the internet...we as patients are empowered to become more educated regarding our medical conditions.
I hope your wife feels better as she rides the wave of PE with us all, based on the people on this site...she is in good company...
