Yeah , went through a day of diagnostics , c t scan finally found the clots. Treatment started same day.

Hi, it's been a week now and my life has changed. I used to be active ! Now a simple walk to the shops has become so difficult because I am out of breathe. The doctors have no idea what coursed the pe. No leg pain ,no surgery , Its a mystery. But a clot was discovered in both of my lungs. The doctors prescribed Rivaroxaban, band Xarelto. Has anyone taken this drug before?

I'm on Xarelto. No side effects for me.

The shortness of breath is common. I had that badly early on. 3 months down the track now and that has well passed.

Thanks aussie , ive been taking Xaretlo for 3 weeks now. I was worried about bleeds and other side effects and when my gums began to bleed 3 days after taking the drug I was very afraid about other bleeding that may occur. I have been feeling tired and a few days ago I spent the night in hospital because of burning and stabbing pains in my chest and arm. My blood pressure was sky high and I felt very ill. I was diagnosed with Pleurisy and prescribed antibiotics, a drug called Clarithromycin. It is used to treat infections such as pneumonia. 5 days on and I have started to feel a little better. But I still have chest pain and shortness of breath. This is starting to become a rollercoaster of a journey. I hope I will recover from this terrible PE and I hope there is no scaring on my lungs that may course even more problems along the way. One positive thing is at least I have stopped coughing up blood.
