Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

Okay.....i am about 10 months into my recovery from bi lateral pe's and a couple of dvt's. I feel that I have been doing pretty good overall on my recovery.
Grand daughter ( 6 yr old) is involved in Girl Scouts. She had never attended an overnight lock-in. There was one offered about an one hour from our house, so I signed us up to attend.
So we arrived about 5:30pm on Saturday and left to come home about 7am on Sunday. Grand daughter had a blast!! She even managed to stay up all night long! She was so proud of herself for doing that. Needless to say, about 5-10 minutes after we headed home, she was out cold!
Anyhow...I didn't do anything extreme except stay up all night. I walked around, sat and pulled door duty, put my feet up from time ti time, etc. I ate some but not a lot. When we got home, I got about 4 hours of sleep before I was back up and moving...slowly!!
Now this week, I have felt about as exhausted as I did after I first came home from the hospital last May. No energy and all I want to do is sleep but kind of hard to do on Spring Break with a 6 yr old and an 10 month old baby.
Is it possible that just staying up all night through my body for such a big loop? I made certain to take my medicines with me so I could take them just like I do at home in the evening as well.
We have also had a lot of weather changes here this past week also.
So I don't know if it is the weather, lack of sleep from the lock-in or a combo that has me feeling so exhausted
Any suggestions? I have been trying to go to bed a little early but have been hurting so bad that I am up and down every few hours which doesn't help either.
Just ready to get back to where I was as next week soccer practice starts and hubby will be starting a new job here by April 1st.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
When I was in my 20s and 30s, I could stay up all night, go out several nights a week, get up early work a full day, and feel completely A-Okay. There's no way I could do that now. not even once in a while. My body just doesn't recover the way it used to and it has nothing to do with having had PEs. In fact, last night I had really bad insomnia so I didn't get much sleep and the sleep that I did get was very light. I swear, I feel like I've been hit by a truck today. I feel completely spent.
So unless your fatigue ends up being an on going thing vs intermittent, I suspect it's just life taking a toll.
I am feeling better ...well back to how I was anyhow before the lock-in event. It did take me about 3 days before I got to feeling back to what is normal for me. I was glad that I had Spring Break to recover.
I also noticed that while I was off over Spring Break and didn't have to push myself as hard, that this week it is taking a little more "get up" to get up and go back to the routine.
It will be interesting the first part of June to see how well my body handles things. I am going to a week long convention in Omaha, NE that is going to be a very busy time! I guess my body is just trying to tell me I am not as young as I once was or think I am!
