OK Is it just me or........

Has anyone else noticed the temperature changes in our bodies since starting on Coumadin or Warfarin or Lovenox. I have long passed the stage of menopause and have noticed holy cow I get so hot especially at night. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to blow the lid off the tea kettle. I sleep with my windows in the bedroom wide open even when its been -10 outside just to cool down. I haven't faced this kind of power surges since going through the change at 35 after my hysterectomy. Hubby is ready to move either me or him to a different room just so he doesn't suffer from frostbite. I have talked to a few others that are long term users on coumadin and they said yea they have noticed a difference, I was wondering if any of you have suffered from this and does it ever stop?

I've only been on warfarin for two weeks now and I have always been hot, now suddenly I am freezing all the time. I used to sleep with the windows open and no blanket, now I'm bundled up with two blankets. My brother has been on it for 13 years now and has never experienced and side effects( lucky him I guess). Has anybody else suffer from upper resp. infections shortly after PE (6 days out of hospital) but I am very congested this morning, shouId be concerned? Not coughing up anything yet. I haven't called the doctor yet, (I have called so many times since I've been home I don't want him to think I'm nuts)

I was cold all the time when I was on warfarin, it hits people differently, we all have different reactions to warfarin and /or Aunty Coags.

Isnt it crazey ? I went through early menopause and was all done with the hot flashes and now they are back ! However I also get so cold I cant stand it if the room temp drops below 75 .

I am in California so its not all that hard on my hubby if I need the fan on and the window open .The overheating seems to be mostly at night while sleeping...I wake up in a sweat at times .

Then there are a lot of times(nearly daily) that I need to drink a hot cup of tea and throw a bed buddy rice pack into the microwave and hug it til I am warm .

I don't have it all the time; it comes and goes, but I get a rush of chills over my limbs since being on warfarin.

But I also think my body is more senstive to both hot and cold because my hormones are starting change a bit.

Sorry you are melting down. I don't know if mine is related to Coumadin or not. I am Hypothyroid and that causes me to feel too warm sometimes and also have Anemia that sometimes has me too cold. It can get frustrating. I'm not near or have gone through the menopause stage yet so wonder how I will do when it does come! Hope you get some happy medium soon.

Per some other postings, most people feel chill. Some think that the chill thing is actually an extension of the chill feeling that comes with clotting; a feeling I recall too well from when I was getting in trouble in late winter. When stable, antigoagulated, and flowing, I am probably as tolerant of temperature extremes as I ever was, but pay more attention to it. If nothing else, the warm feeling probably means you are flowing and not clotting.

I seem to go hot and cold. I have always been hot natured but now all I say is I'm so cold, then I get all covered up and I get to hot and off go the covers. I feel like I fight with the covers all night. No w though whenever I sit sown I cover up with a throw. I might actually like summer this year its so hot here I live in South Carolina.

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
