Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Keep your feet moving, get up and walk once or twice, stay very hydrated and you ought to be fine. I fly 3-4 times a year and I've never had an issue (even on the 5+ hours up to Alaska last year!).
And, yeah, getting preventative Lovenox is always an option. If that'll let you enjoy the flight more, I'd go for it.
I have never heard about the altitude thing either. But i guess thats what i get for listening to what other people say.
You guys are great. I will make sure i keep moving drink my water. I really want to enjoy this trip so i will be doing all i can to do so...
Again thank you both rmb and TossNTurn for your advise.
