Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
It just took me by surprise because the really awful feelings seem to come out of nowhere!!
Hang in there. I am much better than I was 3 1/2 months ago.

I can't speak for a anyone else here, but for me, in hindsight, I think I experienced a strange euphoria after the PE for that first few weeks I was home. It's that thing where you're happy to be alive and doctors say you're ok, and you are on this high. And then the reality of living your day to day life, on top of the sudden realization of what you've just been through, well it can really take it out of you some days Recovery is a marathon not sprint. You are going to have really good days and then days where you feel like you've been hit by a truck. Soon, though, the good days start to outweigh g the bad days until there are mostly good days.
