Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Hey all, updating on my warm chest issue. I figured that the best way to describe it is that my chest feels like it has a fever - skin is hot to the touch, not an internal warmth like heartburn. Luckily, it seems like in the last two days, the warmth has started to go away and I haven't had to use ice packs quite as much.
Unfortunately, the initial chest pain from after I was discharged from the hospital has returned. This pain pretty much subsided within the first 6 months of my recovery, but now that it's 3 years later, the pain is back. I'm feeling fatigued after a normal day out, after I've been very much able to be "normal" for the last few years. I have to recline myself to get any sort of relief.
Nothing has really changed in my life aside from the weather. I'm not exercising more, I haven't changed jobs, I'm drinking 140oz of water a day, no new meds, but since it's been very rainy since January I can only assume that the humidity that has lingered for the past month has started to affect my chest since it hasn't been this way because of the drought.
I am just curious to see if anybody else has felt relatively fine and pain-free for months/years at a time and then when the weather changes (more/less humidity) that it brings back the basic chest pain that we all feel. Anybody know of any pain pills that could help with this when it gets bad? I'm not on blood-thinners so I'm not concerned with NSAIDs at all. Thanks for any input.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Yes, weather can affect your breathing and cause pain post PE.
I do think if your suddenly having pain you should address it with your doctor.
Hello and good morning. I'm sorry you are going through a rough period in your recovery.
I took a day trip from Stillwater Ok to Fayetteville Ar yesterday to watch my gf compete in a trackmeet .
After feeling well for sometime I suddenly started to feel some chest compression during my drive up there. Also being in the car for some time seemed to spur some anxiety on the way home and I sort of felt short on breath immediately. I was able to calm myself down and felt fine.
I know for me my recovery has been somewhat of a mental game. I have to know that just because there are clouds or cold air or elevation changes that it doesn't mean I'm dying. It just means that these things that manifest themselves in the recovery period.
Yesterday was a good but tough day and I'm here today to have a better one.

@LandmanMichael: Definietly the chest compression right now is what I'm feeling, but resting and staying calm is what usually helps it go away. I'm trying to keep it all organized in my head to see if I can explain it better to my doctor.
