Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Don't get too worried about the INR. It really can be a challenge and what you're experiencing isn't all too unusual.
I knew I could get some reassurance on here. Today would have been my weekly check since the adjusted dose from last week but Sunday's check was an added one due to going in to get checked for the blood in my urine. I'm starting to wonder if my inr fluctuates every week because 1) they seem to change my dose after every check and 2) I'm 8weeks postpartum meaning either my hormones are still regulating or settling down now in my body. (if hormone levels effect inr?)
Overall, we try to keep my dose pretty stable and usually only do small adjustments at any given time unless I'm way over (like the 3.7) in which case we'll hold.
It can really take a while to get sorted out and, even then, sometimes you'll get these weird things like that. It just isn't worth the headache to figure out *WHY* with every jump or drop. Sometimes, you just shrug and re-test in a few days and go from there.
