What I've been told is don't double up. I've been in a situation like that and went to the pharmacist and they gave me just enough to get by. Most of the pharmacists realize the importance of continued dosage. I'd just take what you have left. You can take another dosage, but ensure you have at least 8 hrs between dosages.

I've been on warfarin for 3 years. I'm not a doctor, but I have been going to the coumadin clinic and I've had situations similar to yours and been consulted on the same issue.

I don't think it's a huge deal, but it make affect your INR slightly.

Make sure you get your RX filled today.

You can do one of two things: Just continue with your normal dosing going forward, or you could make up the 6 mgs you missed yesterday by increasing Monday's and Wednesday's 9mgs to 12mgs. Either way, you may want to give your doc a call just to tell him what's going on and see what he says. He may just want you to continue on with your regular dose going forward but may also want you to test your INR sooner, depending on when your next test is.

I don't think its a crisis, but give your doc a call and see if he wants you to make any other adjustments. You might see a slight bobble in your INR, but nothing that'll last more than a couple days or so.

Thanks for your advice, it helped me control my anxiety over the situation. Pjcked up my new scrip after work, and my doc wants me to do the 3 days of 13mg to make up the 6mg missed last night.
