I have a stainless steel bangle type bracelet, with the medical alert emblem on the front, and "anticoagulants" printed on the back side. It's kind of scratched up, but it's in pretty good shape yet. I've worn it since 2008 and never take it off, wear it when showering, swimming, playing sports, etc. I get compliments on it because at first glance,it looks like a normal bracelet, until you get close.

but it was at a local drugstore and the bracelet part was $10 and the metal tag was $8. It is sparkly and blends in with my regular jewelry.

Gold or silver. I just got a cheap medal one online. I don't plan to wear this thin forever so I don't consider it a piece of jewelry.

Mine is the plain Jane one from my local pharmacy, which it keeps getting ripped off my wrist not just falling apart or off. I'm a Klutz and I know it and am continually hitting my arms on things. LOL The paint is all worn off and i keep threatening to buy a new one maybe a little nicer one next time, but in the meantime I'm to cheap

Wish I did only have to wear it for six months! I'm a lifer and never take mine off (much like RMB). I'd like it to look at least somewhat presentable.

I really liked the quality of jewelry from American Medical ID but the engraving wasn't very deep. Medic Alert has much better engraving (laser?) but I'm not very impressed with the quality of their jewelry.

I'm most likely a lifer too until I can find alternatives to the Rx ... right now I'm wearing a cheap kid's purple rubber bracelet from CVS with metal clasp enclosure - it does the job and not clanky metal. I only wear it when I go outside for a walk or driving.

Yeah, before I was on warfarin for life and thought I'd be on it just for 6 months, I bought a red silicone bracelet that said COUMADIN. It was cheap, like $4 or something like that. I think I got it on eBay but that was in 2007 so I'm not sure they carry them anymore.

When I went on it for life, I wanted something that looked nice, but where an EMT or doc could see the medical alert symbol, but yet, didn't scream sick person.

I got mine from Medical alert site. I got a bracelet, a keyfob that came with it that is flash drive that you can put all your medical info on and the hospital or dr can just plug it into any computer and see your entire file and any meds, allergies ect that you put on there. Luckily I haven't had to use mine yet, but it is a great peace of mind to have. P.S. Now I know why my dog hates wearing her dog collar lol. I dont usually wear jewelry but my BF has this bracelet on so it is never coming off lol

I thought about getting one but I guess once I start going back into the world, I will definitely need one. I am on Coumadin for a year, it has not been confirmed if I am on it for life yet. Does everyone just have Coumadin written on the back on the bracelet?

I just have a general "anticoagulants" on the back of my bracelet. I've been on warfarin, and lovenox, so I figure this covers it. For me, my priority is making sure an EMT or an ER doc knows I'm on blood thinners, first and foremost. Who I am and all the details can be sorted out later, in my mind.

I have my name, the words "anticoagulants" "asthma" and "contact lenses" on there.

Like RMB, I've been on and off several different anticoagulants, so I don't want to put a specific drug down in case things change at some point.
