Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

So i got my pe in January n February.. now on the 16th my o2 dropped to 83% went to er new ct scan n no new clots. But it's been3 days and it still drops into the 80s alot. Is this normal a month out? Did the ct miss new clots? Cuz this is worse then wen I first got them.

I don’t know if it’s normal or not. I’d follow up with your doctor to get his/her opinion. When the ER checked your o2, what was it? Is it low all the time, certain times if the day, etc?

Just random times. When I walk or move around it will drop for a min then go back to 96 95. At hospital it stayed above 92 and mostly in 96 95 till they took me for a walk n it stayed in the 90s till the end n it dropped to 80s then went back up.

I had similar problems for a couple of years. If you're staying above 90 while at rest you should be ok staying home but you might want to see if there is a pulmonary rehab program available that can give you oxygen while you exercise to get your strength back up. O2 below 85 for extended periods of time can lead to organ damage.

See that's the thing when I exercise like actual exercise on a treadmill or do a bike my oxygen stays above 96 it's just every once in awhile when I get up or when I start to walk or while I am walking then it'll drop real quick or even sometimes while laying down it will drop and then come back up like I have to catch my breath.

According to my respirologist that's fine, what they worry about is when your oxygen drops and stays under 90 for more than a few minutes. It just takes your body a little while to figure out that it needs to make a bigger adjustment to accommodate your increased oxygen needs.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
