By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Do any of you have any problems in the winter months after recovering from Pulmonary Embolism? I had blood clots on my right lung as a result of Covid last March. I was on Warfarin for three months and was fine afterwards. Now that the furnace is on and the air is dry, I have trouble, I have coughing fits at night. I'm now going to use a Humidifier and see if that helps.

Hi yeah that first winter after my PE, my lungs felt super sensitive to the cold weather. Not so much the dry air from the heat but it sounds totally plausible,

There are a lot of potential triggers. My respiratory therapist said that there is also a lot of molds in the air this time of year from all the plants and leaves decaying. It can trigger allergic reactions. I also use a long lasting inhaler to expand the air passages and reduce mucus.
