Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
I'm not saying don't get checked out--and you definitely should, especially if this is keeping you up at night worrying--but keep in mind that anxiety can be a culprit with these things some times.
I've discovered that my lung starts to hurt when I'm getting low on oxygen. So my two cents worth of advice: evaluate your pain while you're calm, then get to a doctor if you're still worried.
Best wishes for your transition to health!
The first thing, which is mostly an annoyance, is that my nails are so terribly brittle that they keep breaking all the time. Annoying, but not concerning.
The other thing, and that's baffling to me, is that my skin, especially my legs, is so dry! I've never had to deal with dry skin before, but it's now to the point that my legs are scaly!
Added to everything else, including the renewed issues with night seats, it's driving me crazy. And, yes, the night sweats re-started when I stopped the Coumadin. It's still Winter here, and quite cold!
Night sweats can be caused by a series of things, ie perimenopause, menopause, thyroid issues, anxiety, etc. I'd not lay that one specifically on being on or off warfarin
Right now I'm basically one month off thinners and honestly am at my worst and dunno what to do. I can't wait for remaining genetic tests to be completed. I'm on pins and needles wanting to know all of the results.
Working with my therapist isn't enough and I'm trying all my meditation techniques and nothing is working. Seriously, when does this shet end?
Danielle, my fingernails were a mess while I was on warfarin and for several months after I stopped. I can't say much about dry skin because it's so stinking dry around here I have to use a ton of lotion normally. And the night sweats, I had after I stopped warfarin too. I was SOOO cold the whole time I was on warfarin I think my body just needed to adjust to the change.
