Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
If you are thinking you are still clotting while on xarelto, you should really discuss it with your doc.
Thank you so much for your reply! I am new to this site and this whole thing!
My name is Stacey. I am a 43 female, 5'6 and 114 lbs. I have always maintained a healthy diet and exercise daily by running/walking 3 miles a day and have an active lifestyle with my two children of 14 and 10.
I had a bilateral pulmonary embolism late November, 2016, and have been taking 20 mg of Xarelto since I've been released from the hospital. I have been told I will be taking this medication for the duration of my life since my condition was unprovoked. I was also diagnosed with factor V, 14 years ago when I was pregnant and developed a dvt. from bed rest during the beginning stages of my pregnancy because I was ill. Is it possible to have another pulmonary embolism while taking this medication. I am still feeling out of breath, chest pains, sweating for short periods and foggyness...I feel good most of the time, but still these episodes happen quite frequently. I've been trying my best to forge forward and keep active and have a positive attitude because I feel so grateful after surviving the pulmonary embolism. There were MANY warning signs leading up to my diagnosis in November, which included colapsing on several occasions from what I thought was low blood pressure (I was told my blood pressure was low by doctors) and I feel completely fortunate, however, I get tired and overwhelmed by this condition . Thank you for your time.
im 32 years of age and I have pulmonary embolism , clots was found in my lungs in early 2012, I have been taking 7.5mg warfarin since then till up on today, my life is normal and I feel great.
I came to terms with the crazy sweating and the mild chest pains, its part of life now to cool down when feeling hot and take a 30second sit down when the chest pains arrive, you kinda know when its coming so I sit down and take deep slow breaths before it hits me hard. The key is to keep active, and that's as simple as taking fast walks at random time in your work place , like from workstation to workstation or even just going to the copy machine. (just keep the blood flowing )
you will see how great you feel and say goodbye to those chest pains
Me too! Feeling good and being active indeed! I would like to hear about your experience on warfarin? I'm taking Xarelto since November 2016. I also have been diagnosed with factor v. Would love to chat and compare notes?
