By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
I just wanted to share how good this felt psychologically, and somewhat physically. I was a gymnast growing up, and started taking an adult gymnastics class about 1 year ago. Since my PE, which I was hospitalized for 8 weeks ago, but they think I had for much longer, I've been afraid to try much due to the pain and loss of strength. I successfully did several round off back handsprings on the floor and a front tuck on the tumble track last night. My pain in my lung is slightly worse today, but I think most of what I'm feeling is from muscle aches. Yay!!!

Ok, I couldn't do a back handspring before the PE, but you make me want to try.
A week after I had my appendix removed (a few days before I was admitted for PEs) I was out for a walk on the coast and had to walk back to the road because there was a 6ft stream of water flowing into the sea. I did the same walk a couple of weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed taking a run-up and jumping over it.
I just need to find a helmet and some buble wrap and I'll give the handsprings a go...
Still, it's nice to feel ALIVE again, eh? I hear you on this one... sometimes you just have to go for it!
