Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

HOW LONG WILL THIS SHORTNESS OF BREATH LAST

Ok I was diagnosed with this PE exactly 1month ago tomorrow, Now the severe pain has subsided(instead of the pain level being a 10/12 its now around 5/6) so I'm Thankful for that. But what I would like someone (ANYONE) to help me to understand why am I while going about my day; it feels like someone keeps knocking (punching) me; knocking the wind out of me. This happens all the time!!! I can be talking or walking and BAM!!! I have to stop doing whatever I'm doing and wait til it passes. It's scary and I'm tired of this. Does anyone know what and why this is?

I had that a lot the first month or so post recovery where it felt like bolt punching through my chest. I don’t know exactly why it happens but I think
it’s not uncommon to experience a range different sensations in your chest, back, shoulder, etc. throughout the first few months of recovery.

Had bilateral PE in Nov 2019. Some nagging symptoms (back pain, shortness of breath) for the first 3 months, After that pretty much got back to normal, Still get some occasional pain after working out to hard or too much yard work. Seems recovery takes a while.

BDB69, Thanks for that info, I'm just trippin in my mind how this has altered my life seems like overnite. I actually was discharged from the hospital on oxygen to use 24/7; but when I went to the pulmonary doc he said my oxygen was good and to use my oxygen when I feel like I've been doing "to much". All I know is that My breath is soooo short and at times (many times) I'll do this gasping thing while breathing , and it seems to be getting more frequent . I will continue to do my "lung exercises" which hurts but at least it's not a 13 in the pain level; more of a 6. Well I welcome any advice or info that you are willing to give, again Thanks and BE HEALED

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
