Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
HOW CAN WE TELL WHEN CLOT PAIN IS OLD PAIN OR NEW

AS I POSTED YESTERDAY, MY HAS MASSIVE CLOT IN IVC AND HIS LUNGS. HE GETS BAD PAINS AND I GET SO SCARED. HOW DO WE KNOW WHEN IT'S PAIN FROM HEALING OR PAIN FROM NEW CLOTS OR TRAVELING CLOTS?
rmb
If he's on warfarin or some other anticoagulant, it's unusual to get new clots while on those drugs. So I would assume it's recovery pain.

Other question just came up. Doc said he did not have any clots in his legs but he does in his pelvis but he gets leg pain/tiredness. Is that also part of healing?

Clots in the pelvis could definitely be blocking blood flow into or out of the legs, so it doesn't seem too surprising that his legs are feeling odd. Clots affect the entire circulatory system and he'll probably have some aches and pains in some surprising places for a while.

thank you

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
